New Vintage Release: 2021 EluviumWe are delighted to share the release of our 2021 Eluvium—a wine that embodies both the power and nuance of Virginia’s terroir. Recently awarded 91 points by James Suckling, this blend of 78% Merlot and 22% Petit Verdot was sourced from an array of premier mountainside vineyards, including Russ Mountain, Capstone, Shenandoah Springs and our own Quaker Run.&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img src="https://res.cloudinary.com/dl1y77tpm/image/upload/v1725903217/5_U1_A6298_copy_5583aac8fe.jpg" alt="5U1A6298 copy.jpg"></figure>&nbsp;Winemaker’s Note“Eluvium represents power, but with nuance. On the surface, the blend may seem straightforward, but the diversity of vineyard sites and resulting wines bring remarkable complexity. We balance Merlot with Petit Verdot, often noted for its boldness, but our approach highlights its aromatic and floral qualities alongside brooding, dense fruit. With aromas of black stone fruits, dark berries, leather, dried herbs, and a hint of violets and fennel, the 2021 Eluvium offers a balanced, full-bodied experience with lively acidity and finely structured tannins.
