Our winery is looking for friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic associates with a passion for wine, food and people. Candidates must enjoy talking, serving and selling local wine and food from our Marketplace. Exceptional customer service skills, a desired ability to learn and convey a rolling wine list featuring the emerging Virginia industry, and fantastic communication with both customers and other employees are also essential qualities. A passionate desire to learn about and educate others about the Virginia wine industry is a must.

Roles and Responsibilities

Duties vary and will include:

  • Greeting customers
  • Properly checking customer's ID's
  • Must have the ability to serve wine and food items--knowledge on the menu items as well as all the wines offered
  • Serve 6-9 tables, as determined by management
  • Must always be present on the floor during service
  • Maintain specific side-work and ensure the total cleanliness and smooth operation
  • Clear and reset tables
  • All guests must be treated in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Must be able to interact with the guests in a friendly/efficient manner. Always strive to exceed our guests’ expectations.
  • Must be comfortable engaging customers in conversation while communicating our vision and purpose, as well as, promoting our Wine Club
  • Washing and polishing glassware
  • Stocking wine and retail items
  • Learning new wines on a weekly basis
  • Assisting with special events when needed 



  • At least 21 years old
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to quickly learn, retain, and successfully communicate new information
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Comfortable learning our sales system using advanced technology, such as iPads, for ordering
  • Handle transactions with accuracy, including taking payments, giving change and packaging of merchandise
  • Able to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • A positive, friendly attitude 
  • An enthusiasm for wine, food, people, and learning
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards, as well as attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
